PUBLIC BUILDINGS IN DUNEDIN. (From Oub Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, January 27. Mr Statham to-night, while tho Public Works Estimates were being' considered, referred to tho want of a comprehensive policy in connection with tho Government buildings i'n Dunedin. The Post Office buildings, ho said, provided one long history of extravagance, and at present tho Government, buildings were scattered all over Dunedin. Ho had urged that the block of buildings at tho back of tho Post Office should bo acquired by tho Government. These buildings and the old Post Office block would house all the Government departments, and when the new Post Office waa built the Government' buildings in Duendin could be concentrated in one spot. This would 'P_ay tho Government as a business proposition. At present they were paying i coni' derable rents for offices in tho buildling referred to.
