TEX RICKARD'S TRIAL

(Received Jan. 27, at 8.5 p.m.) The 15-year-old girl who charged Tex Rickard with having assaulted her, in cross-examination at the trial, stuck to h,er story, though she admitted that she had lied several times in accusing other men similarly on previous occasions. Rickard’s counsel said: “ I believe there will be no difficulty in proving that the girl is lying in this case also/’—A, and NX. Cable. [A cable message published on Monday stated that Tex Rickard (the well-known promoter) had been arrested and charged with criminally assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Two other girls, aged 12 and 11 years, were held as material witnesses. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children brougrt the charge.
