Friday, January 6. (Before Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M.) Alleged Wife Desertion.—Walter Pulford Warren was charged with having deserted his wife at Hastings on December 11, 1914, and leaving her without adequate means of support.—On the application of the police defendant was remanded to appear at Napier on the 13th insi, bail being allowed —accused in £IOO and one surety of £IOO. Alleged Arson. —James Dee was charged with committing arson at Mosgiol on January 2, and on the application of Chief Detective Bishop was remanded to next Monday. Alleged Indecent Assault.—A young man named James Muir Fraser was charged with indecently assaulting a girl on January 1. —Complainant said she was 20 years of age, and was standing at Stewart Dawson’s corner about 9 p.m., when .accused came up, raised his bat, and spoke to her.
