For many weeks the irritable patient had been in bed 1 with typhoid, and on a starvation diet. Bring me a postage stamp!” A gentleman having been of considerable assistance to a public body in a Scottish provincial burgh, and having declined to' make any charge for his work, one of the members proposed that he should bo presented with an “honorarium” in recognition of his valuable services. Another member at once proposed that ho should bo given cash instead, ae be was not a musician, and would not be able to play it.
