BERWICK CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

FORTY-FOURTH ANNUAL GATHERING. The forty-fourth annual gathering of the Berwick Caledonian Society was hold, at Berwick on Monday, January 2. There was a large attendance at the '.Domain to witness the sports, which were carried through under ideal weather conditions. The ground was in good order, thanks to the labours of an energetic working bee, which resulted in tho removal of laige quantities of noxious weeds which had overgrown the place. The arrangements for the gathering were in the capable hands of Mr John Matheeon (president), Mr D. M’Phorson (secretary), and other office-bearers of the society, Mr J. Sinclair acting as starter. In the evening a successful ball was held in the local public hall, the Grand March being led by Mr John Matheeon and Mrs J. Sinclair. Messrs Flank Hoonan and L. Shaw satisfactorily carried out the duties of M.C.’a. The music, supplied by Mrs Wither and Mr N. Rose, added to the enjoyment of the evening.
