Otago commenced tlfeir second innings in perfect weather, requiring 323 rone to win, but made a' poor showing, being all out, after two hours’ batting, for the small total of 124 runs. Otago teams have rarely done themselves justice in Auckland, and to-day was rio exception. The Otago men lacked all semblance of enterprise, and, with the , exception of Shepherd and Galland, nearly all played a defensive game, making the Auckland bowling appear more difficult than it was.
