Atkinson, charged with escaping from custody and theft of a revolver .at Taumurunui Police Station, was Sentenced to three years’, reformative treatment. TAIJMARUNUI. December 8. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, before Mr F. W. Platts, S.M., John and Mary M'Kenzie were charged with keeping liquor for sale in a proclaimed , area. After lengthy evidence had boon hoard John: M'Kenzie '-was convicted and fined £sd, while the case against his wife was dismissed. Defending counsel notified his indention of appealing.
