PROTEST BY VICTORIA COLLEGE.

(Peb United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, September 15. The conviction of Miss H. Weitzel, graduate at Victoria College, on a charge of circulating seditious literature, was mentioned at th© mooting of th© victoria. AJollego Council last, night, when it was decided that a special committee be set up to inquire into specific questions raised by the Director of Education in this connection. During the discussion it was pointed out that Miss Weitzel was not a student at the college at .the present time. She finished her course at the college in November. 1920, and had. not become. connected with the Communists till April of this year. The following resolution ( waa also \ passed 'without discussion“ This council regrets that the Minister .of Education, prior to holding the inquiry asked for, thought it proper to make a pubHo statement through the press which ia very prejudicial to the reputation of the college.’’
