SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING THE RAISING OF A SPECIAL LOAN. Pursuant to the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,’’ PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Dunedin City Council called for the purpose, and held at the Town* Hall, Dunedin, on Wednesday, August 31, 1921, the following Resolution, authorising the raising of a Special Loan of. £89,300, was duly xmssod. The Resolution is as follows: 1. That it be and ia hereby resolved by the Dunedin City Council, so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a special order, that the said Council, in pursuance and* exercise, of tho powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” do raise a special loan of £89,300. to bo known as "The City of Dunedin Tramways Repayment Loan (1922) of £89,3C0,” for the purpose of paying off a part—namely, £89,300 (tho remaining part being provided for by other means) —of the following special loan raised by the said Council for tramway purposes —namely: - Loan of £200,000 raised in 1900 under the provisions of “The Dunedin City and Suburban Tramways Act, 1900,” and “The Municipal Corporations Act. 1900.” 2. That tho security for the interest and sinking fund and repayment of the said special loan of £89,300 be a special annual recurring rate of 2d in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin, . in addition .to the liability of tho Corporation of the City of Dunedin and of its assets generally for payment of the debentures and coupons issued in respect of such loan. 2., That the currency of the said special loan bo 20 years, from the Ist day of MARCH, 1922. 4. , That a sinking fund of one pound per centum per annum bn the amount of the,, said loan be established in connection with the said special loan, and that the amount of such sinking fund be paid to tho Sinking Fund Commissioners, to be appointed for that purpose, on the Ist day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years from the_ Ist day of MARCH, 1922, or until the’loan is fully paid off, of which sinking fund the first payment shall bo made on the Ist day of APRIL, 1923. 6. That tho said special loan of £89,300 be raised by the issue of debentures under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913 f and that 89 of such debentures shall be for the sum of £IOOO each, and 3 of such debentures shall bo for the sum of £IOO each, and boar interest at the rate of £si per centum per annum, payable half-yearly on the Ist day of September . and the Ist day of March in each and : every year during the currency of such loan, or until such loan is fully paid off; and that coupons be annexed to each such debenture accordingly, and that the said debentures and coupons be payable at the principal banking house of tho Bank of New Zealand in Sydney, New South Wales, free of exchange to the holder. 6. That the Corporate Seal be affixed to all such debentures, and that all such debentures and coupons bo signed by the Mayor and countersigned by tho City Treasurer, but so that their respective signatures to the coupons may be lithographed on the coupons. 7. And, further, that, this resolution be submitted foi; confirmation as a Special Order to an Ordinary Meeting of the said Cduncil. to bo held on WEDNESDAY, the 23th day of September, 1921.
