The Rise and Shine dredge worked last week under conditions similar to those of the previous week. The wash was very tight near the bottom, which was soft red clay, at an average depth of about 40ft. The/e were numerous wash stones, and some fairly good prospects were got, but they were somewhat patchy. The secretary Of the Nokomai Hydraulic Sluicing Company reports that a wash-up was made at No. 2, tho result being 330 z lOdwt. A start was made with'the stripping off of tho top material of the next paddock on Tuesday last. A wash-up was also made at No. 3 claim for a return of 381 oz Idwt for the paddock. There is a good supply of water for both claims.
