AUSTRIAN PRISON MUTINY.

DISCIPLINE tIESENTED. VIENNA, August 10. (Received Aug. 11, at 8.10 p.m.) The convicts in Stein prison, being dissatisfied with the disciplinary measures, mutinied. The military suppressed the disorder after firing a volley, three prisoners being killed.—Reuter. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. LONDON, August 11. (Received August 11, at 8.50 p.m.) When a military aeroplane was flying over Aldershot at a height of 20.000 feet the observer’s oxygen pipe brike. pilot offered to hand over his pipe, but the observer pluckily refused, saying he could go another 3000 feet. The plane ascended that height, and when it descended the observer was delirious, but he has since recovered. -

The Daily Express states that the 18th Hussars and 15th and 17th Lancers are being disbanded. —A. and N.Z. Cable. PARTS, August 10.

(Received August 11, at 8.45 p.m.) A woman approached a policeman outside the Supreme Council meeting place and said ; “Lend me a revolver. I want to shoot Mr Lloyd George.” The woman, who was described as Irish, was detained and her mental condition is now being investigated.—A. and N.Z. Cable. TOKIO, August 10. (Received August 11, at 8.45 p.m.) The Ruhara Trading Companv, with a capital of 10,000,000 ven, which was founded in 1912 and which is one of the largest exporting firms in Japan, has announced that it will dose its doors at the end of August. Its liabilities are more than 50,000,000 ven. The company is a creditor in foreign banks ahror.d, and therefore will not suffer loss.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
