Monday they sold at 12s, and on Tuesday at 11s lid and 12a, but on Thursday they opened at 13s. and advanced to 13s 7d, a goodly number of shares being placed at prices within- that range. Yesterday there was a buyer at 13a 6d, and a declared seller at 13a 10d, brut no transactions were effected. This was the only mining stock dealt in. Westport Coal changed hands at 27a 6d on Monday and 27s 4d on Tuesday, which were the only sales for the week, and yesterday tfeere warn a seller at 27s 6d, the best buying offer being 26s 9d. National Insurance had a reported sale on Monday at 5Ss, but yesterday there was no declared buyer, and the seller quoted wide. Notional Mortgage changed hands on Monday at 80s, but yesterday there was a seller at 76s and no declared buyer. M'Leod Bros.’ Soap, which bad had a buyer lor some time at £l4 15a, changed hands at that figure, ond this transaction supplied the market. • A sale in P. and O. (deferred) was reported at £320 on Tuesday, but they eased after* wards, and yesterday the market was £3l4* £3lB. On Wednesday ank of New Zealand were quitted at 42s 3d, end yesterday a sale was reported at 42s 6d, the market closing ' with a sixpenny margin. New Zealand Insurance were quitted on Thursday at 255, but yesterday there was no declared buyer, for them. In other stocks there was not much change. Sale reported: Bank of New Zealand, 42a fid.
