The teachers will act temporarily as assistant teachers in the Government schools. Apia, but will eventually be required to travel round the islands giving assistance in teaching to and holding classes in English for nativq pastor-teachers. 2. Owing to scarcity .of residences, single men are preferred, but one married man could be immediately accommodated. If married applicant’s wife is. also qualified to teach, then consideration will be given to her application for position as assistant, Grade 2A. ~ . . .. 3. Proficiency in music, physical .iristruc-. tion, or woodwork desirable. 4. Salary £340-£380, : plus tropical allowance, as follows: —To a single man, £IOO, without quarters, or £75, with quarters. To a married man without family, £175, without quarters, or £l5O, with quarters. To a married man with family, £225, without quarters, or £2OO, with quarters. . 5. At least three years’ service required. Free transport to Apia provided, also return transport if applicant serves for three years, or if engagement terminated through no fault of his own. Superannuation' rights safeguarded. One year’s service is equivalent to IJ, years in New Zealand. Grading considered as in New Zealand. The successful applicants must be prepared to leave New Zealand about the 17th March, 1921. ASSISTANT MASTERS (3).
