ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT
(Fbou Oub Own Coebbspondknt.) OAMARU, January 31. On Saturday a warrant was issued for the arrest of T. L. Ralfe. late secretary of the North Otago Soldiers’ Aid Association, on a charge of embezzlement of funds. In response to a telegram from the chairman of the association to come to Oamaru at once, Ralfe, who had left here to join his family in Christchurch, returned and was arrested. The amount set down in the warrant is £6. Ralfe, who came to Oamaru as a member of the literary staff of the*, North Otago Times under the late company, but abandoned journalism for secretarial and other work, was an active worker in connection with • war efforts and other public activities.
