INTERCHANGE OF TEACHERS.

LEAGUE OF EMPIRE SCHEME

Frees Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. J* * LONDON, January 29. The League of Empire scheme for the interchange of teachers is progressing. The London County Council has_ undertaken to extend the scheme considerably during the coming year, and is prepared to receive applications from the dominions. Other authorities are co-operat-ing in the matter, which will be fully discussed at the Imperial Education Conference in Toronto in August.—Reuter.

ROYAL MARRIAGES. ATHENS, January 30. The Greek Crown Prince will marry Princess Elizabeth of Rumania in Bucharest in the second week in and the Rumanian Crown Prince will wed Princess Helene of Greece at Athens shortly after.—Times.

WELSH RAILWAY DISASTER. LONDON, January 29. In connection with the Welsh railway disaster, it if now stated that the driver of the slow train entered the section without obtaining the correct tablet.—Reuter.

PARIS, January 29. France’s unknown soldier was buried beneath -the Arc de Triomphe. It was a simple ceremony. Marshals Joffre, Foch, and Petain, Mr Lloyd George, and parents, widows, orphans, and disabled soldiers were present. —Reuter.

GRAND DUCHESS ELIZABETH OF RUSSIA.

LONDON, January 30. The Marquis of Milford liaven has reached Jerusalem with the body of his sister-in-law, the Grand Duchess Elizabeth of Russia, whom the Bolshevists murdered rear Perm. The body will be interred at Gethsemane. —Reuter.
