FIGHTING AT FOOTBALL MATCH.
ARMOURED GARS OPERATING. THE CROWD PANICSTRICKEN. TEN KILLED; SEVENTY INJURED.
LONDON, November 21. At the Gaelic football match in Dublin there were 6COO spectators. When armed forces, with armoured cars and machine guns, entered the field firing began in all directions. Several persons were shot dead, and hundreds were injured during tho stampede that followed.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
The Gaelic football match was being played at Croke Park, Dublin, when armed forces, with armoured cars and mounted machine guns, entered. The crowd tried to escape. They became panic-stricken as shots were fired in all directions. The hospitals are full of wounded.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
A later message states that 15,000 spectators were present at Croke Park. The game had been in progress a quarter of an hour when the armed force appeared.' Ten persons were killed and 70 wounded.—A and N.Z. Cable.
