On Thursday evening tho inmates of the .Benevolent Institution were antertained bv members of the Tabernacle Junior Christian Endeavour Society. The programme consisted of part songs by the choir, action songs and solos by Misses G. and H Knowles Caskie, Crawford. Stentiford, and Master Ledgerwood; ducts were given by the Misses Knowles, Masters J. Ledgerwood >\ nd T . IL Knowles, Misses D. Stentiford and Knowles; and the following contributed reatations;—Misses IJ. Scurr, R, Watson, V. ODonnell, and T. M'Millan. Sweets were handed round to tho old folk, and Mr Porteous, on their behalf, thanked tho performers for the entertainment Rivon. Owing to the quantity of water taken from the river by power companies, Niagara Falls are but a ghost of their fornwr magnificence. With 38,954 flights and a total of 70,000 passengers carried during tho first year of civil flying in England thoro -bub but one fatal accident.
