The meeting was addressed by Mr O'Brien, the Northern Miners' representative on the Federation. After a protracted discussion, a. motion to resume work on Monday was carried by 165 votes to 61. Even if tho miners resume the full output to-morrow the service cannot be resumed before Thursday, and it -will proba-bly be a week before supplies warrant n, resumption. Tho owners of motor vehicles will reap another harvest during tho cessation of the trams, but to-day, owing to the showery weather, there are not very many people abroad.
