KAKORAIBAND ine first concert of ?he season at tho Botanic Gardens was given by the Kaikorai Band yesterday afternoon, before a lanre attendance of the public. The programme opened with the new march. "The Emigrant The overture, "Poet and Peasant" (von Suppc), was played in the bail's best contest style, ana tho full tone of the band approached that organ quality so much desirod in brass hand playing. "Operatic Melodies was another selection which naught the- fancy of the public.
