CONFERENCE IN BRUSSELS.

BRUSSELS, September 25 (Received Sept. 26, at 5.5 p.m.) There is no popular interest in the Financial Conference. The president's address -was free from imaginative flights. He declared that there could not be a speedy escape from the consequences of the war. Economic disorder had followed the accumulated ruin of the -war. They must not delude themselves by believing that the general discontent would suddenly disappear. He hoped that the conference would find a method for universal co-operation that -would help the world to emerge from its troubles.
