For some considerable time a Committee has been hammering away at the Government 1o have an Electrio Power District foimed so that tho water power acquired nught be utilised for the benefit of tho whole district. On July 16 the Te-viot Electrio Power District, the tenth for tho dominion, was constituted. That moans that tho<lijftriet extending from Allan's Hill, above Coal Creek down to Island Block, below Miller's Flat, is now a local authority, with all tho powers of a county council or borough council, and in being for the purpose of generating electricity for lighting, heating, and power. Every ratepayer is interested in this, a new tra of prosperity for the district. A strong fcoard is required to carry out this imporrant work.
