TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD
The Taieri Drainage Board met yesterday; present—Messrs Jaines Miller (chairman), W. J. Marshall (the new trustee of the Lakes subdivision), D. Ford, "W. G-. Reid, and J. G. Wylie. Tho Secretary, Momona Dairy Factory, forwarded a resolution of the directors that tho company would be responsible for any damage done to the board's works whilst the company's drain was being put through the river bank.—lt was decided to adhere to the previous resoJution withholding consent to interference with the works unlese the company undertook responsibility for all time The Town Clerk, Outrain, wrote again reminding the board of the urgent necessity of trying to strengthen the weak places in the bank at or near Wylie's and MTJeod's as previously pointed out. Consideration was given to tlio question of lee Creek, «nd it was resolved to run tiie pump steadily for several days with a ■new to lowering the water beyond the normal level. Members mentioned that the creek as a whole was in a bad condition, and the chairman stated that it would have to be tateen in nand next season.
