HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
.The monthly meeting of the Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, hold last night, was attended by Messrs W. \E. S. Knight (chairman), A. F. Quelch, J. W. Sonnj, J. Camming-, W. T. Talboys, J. W. Dove, H. M. Driver, Dr Newlands, and Mrs Macfie. The Inspector-general wrote notifying that the question of sanctioning the purchasing- of a hospital site at Balelutha was held over until it was settled whether the South Otngo district was to have a separate hospital board or not. The plan forwarded was being kept in the event of the board retaining the district, in wbich case it Would be submitted for approval" by the Minister at the earliest possible dateReceived. The Inspector-general forwarded the approval of the M nister to the proposed improvements and additions to the X-ray department, estimated cost £1000.—Received and referred to the Hospital Committee to report. . Professor Pickerill wrote acccpting the position of. surgeon-in-cliarge of the facial nnd jaw -department at the Dunedin Hospital.—Received., Dr Baniott, chairman and treasurer of the Radium and X-ray Fund Committee,, ■wrote notifying further donations to the amount of: £158. making the total amount to credit £692 12s. Donations held bv the Otago Daily Times and others would • bo forwarded later—Received with thanks. Tenders as follow were accepted :—Milk and cream for the Benevolent Institutions and Children's Convalescent Home—Messrs Fauld Bros, (milk Is 6d per gallon, cream Is 6d per pint): milk and cream, Pleasant Vahey Sanatorium—Mr Coutts (milk Is 4d por gallom.cream Is Id per pint). Funerals: Dunedin Hospital and Benevolent Institution—Hope, and Kingston (adults £1, children 12s 6d); Wakari Hospital—A. sT Archer and Co. (adults £3 3s. children £1 19=) Bread: Pleasant Vn'lev Sanatorium—Henry Kennett (9d . per 41b " loaf); Wakari Hospital—W. J Ritchie (lOd hot 41b loaf). Removal of -ashes: Dunedin Hospital and Nurses' Home—B. ,T. MTTewen (£39 10s) The consideration of the tenders for meat and fuel were held crver for a special meeting next -Monday evening.
