OTAGO ASSOCIATION. The lollowiug is the annual report of the committee of the Otago Cricket Association, wliich wili bo presented afc thu iinnual meeting iiext Monday night:—The committee desire to congratulate clubs on the success of tlie past season,, which must be considered a most satisfactory one. When the great war burst upon us the prospects of cricket in Otago were exceedingly bright, «s there were a cumber of young players coming to the Iront and showing great promise; but th-e call to battle was answered promptly by these young cricketers, and manv made the supreme sacrifice. It was therefore expected that to regain the pre-war standard of play $vould take time, and it was most gratifying to see tije fine showing made bv our young players m our representative matches. It is hoped the coming season will see players take up the game with enthusiasm, and tlmt the good old game of cricket will flourish in Otago. Unfortunately the season commenced with very unseasonable weather, and very littfe cricket was played before Christmas; but from New Year to the close of the season the weather was all that couid be desired. The interest in club matches was well maintained throughout tho season, and the various competitions were keenly contested. The Grange Cricket Club were successlul in winning the First Grade contest, the ilornington the Second Grade, and the Grange also secured the. Third Grade. The committee de6ire to congratulate these clubs .on their success. During the K"ew Year holidays a visit was received from tho Wellington representative team, the weather for this match being ideiil for cricket, and the match proved most interesting, resulting in u win for Otago by 156 runs. Our representatives visitod Christchurch in February, and suiierud defeat at the hands of Canterbury by 10 -wickets. An Otago team also visited lnvercargul and piayed a match against Southhuid, *t J i n , intcrcstin K game resulted in a win lor Southland by four wickets. A visit was also received from a North Otago team, and an interesting game resulted in a win ior Otago by five runs on the first innings. At Easter time a mixed team journeyed to Owaka. During the Christmas holidays a team also visited Oaroaru ana played a match against North Otago, the match resulting in a drawn game, the North Otago team batting for the day and scoring 271 runs. The prospects for the coming season appear very bright. The New Zealand Cricket Council have arranged for a programme of representutive matches whereby the four major associations will meet each year, aud the northern associations have consented to come south this season, which will mean that we will have matches against Auckland, Canterbury, and Wellington in Dunedin, which .should be the means of creating a new interest in our summer-pastime. It is also hoped that the council will be successful m arranging for the visit of an Australian btate team. The year was commenced with a deficiency of £425,- and the balance sheet now submitted shows a debit balance of £225 10s sd, and this must be considered most satisfactory.

MORNINGTON CLTJB: The annual report of the Mormngton Cricket Club states:—The committee, in submitting the lbth annual report and balance sheet, congratnlate .the members on the success' attained, both on the field and financially. The club were able to place in the field a senior team, two Second Grade, and a Third Grade, the senior being third in the competition. The Second Grade A team, under the captaincy of Mr J. Brown, had the honour of winning the Second Grade Shield, and went_ through the season with an unbeaten record. \\ Logan had the honour of 'scoring the first ■ century of the season, making 111 not out against Carisbrook. Tho Second Grade B team, although not so successful as the other team, had several exciting games, and fulfilled all their engagements. Tho Third Grade team,- composed mostly of boys just left school, also had a good season, and several of the boW showed exceedingly good promise. A team "travelled to Roxburgh n-t Easter time and played two matches against the Coal Creek Club, and your club woir one match and lost one. In representative cricket the club was represented by F. Haig and Y. Itolderness against- Southliind, both players upholding the good name oi the elub. The committee show a balance on the right side, after having heavy expenditure in buying two new mats aud material to the extent of over £25.

GRANGE CLUB. ilr A* Kestieaux (vice-president) presided at the 43rd annual meeting of the Grauge Cricket Uub, held iu the pavilion on the North Ground last night. In moving the adoptiun of the annual report and balance sheet, the ghuirman congratulated the club on its record lasc season. The First and Ihird Grade teams had won tho competition in Oieir respective grades, and tbc second eleven had been runners-up for "the Second Grade championship. As very many of the plovers in the junior graaes were young, it augured Well for the fiuure of Otago cricket. A very gratifying feature was the enthusiasm which members had displayed, and the success of the club was the natural result of this. During the vca r the club had lost an old and much-csteemed vice-president by the death of Afr S. Wynne, who had beeu a keen supporter of the club for many years. The financial position of the club w x 'is sound, and refleeted particular credit on the -secretary.—(Applause.) Mr C. Chadwick, in seconding the motion, made special reference to the fine cricket- played by the Third Grade team.—The report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of office bearers for the ensuin" season resulted as follows.—President, Mr C. if Wilson; vice-presidents—Messrs A. Bestieaux', C. Ilanlon, G. Nelson, \Y. Wy.itt, 11. Hudson, J. J. Ledgerwood. 0. 13. Briggs, C. Bills, and \V Best; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Rowland; elub eaptam, Mr A. Galland; deputy club captain, Mr T. Hitchcock; delegates to tho O.C.A.—Me=srs ltestieaux.
