The secretary of the Lyttelton branch of the Seamen's Union was summoned, and also the Lyttelton manager of the Union Company, and the company's marine, superintendent. A conference was held on board, when it was pointed out that the cook could not la summarily dismissed, as ho was entitled to 2$ hours''notice. Tho firemen finally agreed to sail on condition that the cook left tho ship at Wellington to-morrow, and tho cook was accordingly given 24 hours' notice* The Moana sailed at 11 p.m.
