The estimated loss exceeds the figures bv £4500. y The express which left Auckland last evening collided with a log placpd on the lino near Pukekohe. The train was brought up undamaged. The log was taken to Pukolrohe and handed to the police HOKITTKA, May 14. A movement is afoot here to establish an Electric Power Board. The necessary petition effecting the constitution of the board is now being prepared. 'Hie Minister of Public Works will visit West land next week. ' TTMARU, May 14. Tho solicitors of the projected South Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Freezing Company are officially advised that the Minister of Finance has consented to the FiTmpany's application for permission to issue capital, as set out in the prospectus.
