Representatives of the ADied who are the gueste of the British Government, were entertained at luncheon at the Carlton Qub in connection with, the proposed formation of an International Health Council under the League of Nations. Mr C. Addieon, who presided, said he hoped an agreement would shortly be reached as regards the constitution of the council. Ho hoped the council would see its way immediately to promote international organised research. Britain was now fully conscious of the necessity for research of matters appertaining to public health. They were assured of the cooperation of powerful bodies whose activities were world-wide. They were inaugurating to-day one of the most useful branches of the League of Nations, whose stability would largely depend on the extent it contributes to the well-being of different peoples.—A. and N.Z.
