AMUSEMENTS.

One of th* best of the Sherlock Holmes stories, entitled "The Valley of Fear," is now being shown at the Queen's Theatre, together with a well-varied list of supports. The Mack Sennett comedy, "Uncle Tom Without a Cabin," is proving a big draw at the Octagon Theatre, and is being received with roars of laughter. '"The Greatest Thing in Life," which is supplied as the feature film, is also produced. "The Poppy Girl's Husband" was one of the features at the Plaza, Theatre yesterday, and the first episode in the Paramount serial, "The Grey Seal," was the other. To-day Wallace Reid, the popular Paramount star, will appear in a new picture, "The Roaring Road." The olimax is a great race between an express train and an automobile from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The supporting pictures axe of the highest order, and include the first episodo of "The Grey Seal," the new serial. At Everybody b Theatre yesterday the chief film wss "The Face at tho Window," supported bv another episode in the serial, "A Man of Might" To-day the chief feature will be "Ginger," a film of the romance of a girl-child in New York. Bobby, the son of a Judge, by whom tho girl 'Ginger" has been adopted, has a strong rival for the girl's hand in a newspaper boy, and this, of course, introduces some amusing epieodes. A new chapter of "A-Man of Might" and other pictures support the feature. "The Road Through the Dark," a war story, is tie principal subject on the holiday programme at the Empire and King Edward Theatres. A Gazette, a scenic, and a comedy are being? shown as supports. 'Tier Great Match," now being screened at the King's Theatre, is evidently to the publio taste. It is the story of a royal Ecioa. who renounces his rights to a throno and -01311168 the object of his love—an American young lady. The film shows that the prince believes the kingdom of love to be greater than any terrestrial kingdom. The supports are good.
