MIDDLEMARCH SHOW

Favoured with glorious weather, a record entry of 631, keen competition, and ft largo ■ attendance* the nineteenth annual ehow of the MiddJemiaroh Show proved moat successful. ''11l the draught horse section the judge, favourably commented on the quality of the entries in the olase for dry mares, any age, and the judge in the Bheep section also particularißed the first prise ram in the ooxri4dble oeoiion. The judge of the fat s' Bheep section stated that the "three fat lamb" class was the finest he bad ever seen. Some fine animaJe were shown in the cattle classes, the champion shorthorn yearling heifer etanding out. Mr R. Walker, the veteran secretary, •who haa" held the position since the StrothTaieri A;>aind P. Society woe started, and an efficient body of officials had all the details working smoothly. Thanks are due to Mr X 7. D. Maßon, who proved a courteous and most efficient press steward. The Ladies' Farewell .Comamttee came to, the rescue of the society, and carried out tie work connected with the refreshment rooms.
