— The great shortago of hides has led to a good deal experimenting with the skin of monster fishes, and a "sea, leather" company is already at work making shoe-leather from the skins of the shark, the devil fish, tho porpoise, and the dog-fish. The skins are treated by a special process of tanning, and t.ho leather is already in use fbr the manufacture of bags, belte, card-onsos, and so on. Ten square feet of loather is obtained from the "hide of a shark woighdng I 5001b, and a softer leather—Er» kid—is got | also from tho stomaoh.
