Tho favourite, Ttuigalooma, was sixth. Alnwick was trained by Chris. Mooro for a lady owner, Mrs A. Chirneide. Mod ill i, ridden by M/Lnchlan, finished ilist in tho Asoot Vale Stakes, v/inning narrowly from the penalised Goseino Hotan. Modilli cost Mr Norman Falkitier £5.50 as a yearling. There was a groat finish in the Australian. Cup. Macadam made a fine run, raid wo a in tho last 50 yards from an outsider, Tenterfield. Tho pacemaker, Eaatcourt, was a good third. Menia was beaten after half a mile had boon covered, and ran third last. Kilflinn was dangerous until the straight was entered. Macadam cost his owner, Mr S. P. Mackay, £1700, and won the Perth Cup in 1918. J. Mahoney, the Newcastle Jockey, rodo the big double—Red Dojmo and Macadam.
