BENZINE SHORTAGE
NAPIER MERCHANTS' PROTEST. (Pb* United Prxss Association.) NAPIER, March 2. Napier merchants were advised to-day that 50 per cent, of the Waihemo's cargo of 40,C00 cases of benzine* was to be diverted to Auckland. An urgent meeting of the Chamber of Commerce passed a motion strongly protesting against this action of tho Board of Trade, and appealing to the Prime Minister for justice to tho district. It was pointed out that H'awke's Bay would be in. a very bad way if tho order was carried out.
