ULTIMATUM BY EMPLOYEES.
HIGHER WAGES DEMANDED,

Tho failure of tho butchers' employees to get tho full amount asked for in their demand for increased wages from tho,Arbitration Court hrid led them to issue an ultimatum to their employers that, unless thoso demands are acceded to, they will strike within seven days. They asked for £4- per week for all shopmen. The court awarded £3 lis 6d, an increase of 5s on tho previous wages.
