«3> Tho first box-opening for the current year of tho Bildutha School branch of the Young- Helpers' League in connection with Dr, Barnariio's Homes was held on Friday afternoon. Mr addressed the pupils on the work of the league, and appealed to all to do what they could 10 lessen the hardship of those leso fortunately placed than themselves. He road a letter from tho General league Secretary, telliiiy of the young patient occupying "the Balclutha Co: in the Boys' Garden City, Wcodford. Tho rector then announced tho amounts collected by the various standards as follows:—Standard 11, £1 5s 10d; Standard 111, £4 11s 3d; Standard IV, £4 10s 6d; Standard V and VI, £4 13s 4d; Secondary Donartment, £8 2s lid; donations £2 10s; total, £25 18s 10d. This brings the grand total collected in throo and a-half years to £147 17s 9id.
