In tho New South Wales Assembly Mr Holman (Premier) stated that a referendum on Prohibition would not be taken during the life of tho pro?ent Parliament (Rec»ived Sept. 10, at 9.20 p.m.) The Nationalist Conference resolved in favour of compulsory- voting, supported the retention of the Senate and other second chambers, and an increase in oldage pensions to meet the increased cost of living.
