Remits wore? adopted caning the Government's attention to the discrepancy bewcen tho grants to Stato foster "homes lor the maintenance- of children, and th« allowance to widows desirous of upbringing children in .their own homes; that all widows with young children should receive pensions not less than granted to epidemic widows; that the lKatter of reciprocity between Grwt Britain and the dominion regarding qualification for old age pensions b 3 brought before logislators : that tho council affirm tho principle that married women performing service in their home or assisting their husbands in business should have, tho legal right to share tho husband's income. The problem of domestic heln was discussed, and Miss Lynch, M.A.", gave an address on the subject. Tho following resolution was carried:—" That thfi Govorninent bo asked to place a sum on the Estimates to establish an experimental trainir:** school for women who wish to specialise in domestic work. A lecture dealing with tho place of education in New Zealand society was given by Miss Coad, M.L
