It is supported by the tenth episode of ' The House of Hate." -The Plaza Theatre is doing very satisfactory business this week with a programme which is meeting with the warm approval of patrons of this popular house 'Cheating the Public" is the title of the star film, and it is supported by other interesting items. • '■••■■ ''Merely Players/' in which Kitty Gordon is the bright particular star, is the feature of a good programme wbioh is now being ■presented at Everybody's Theatre. The supporting pictures include a Topical Budget, a comedy entitled "The Baby Doll," and a specially good scenic by the Pathe Company, called "The Valley of the Lot," The charm of Enid Bennet has never been put to a greater test than in her new Paramount picture, "A Desert Wooing," to be shown at the Empire Theatre to-day. "A Desert Wooing " is the story of a man who marries a social butterfly and takes her West to his ranch. She loves him, but resents his masterful manner when ihe throws a former admirer out of the housp and sends her relatives and friends, who have accompanied them for a holidav, back to New York. Then the former admirer, a surgeon and parasite, returns and shoots the husband, and tries to overpower the wife. ■ She obtains a revolver, and succeeds in forcing the assailant to give the necessary surgical treatment to her husband that will save his life. The supporting .pictures are an American and Australian Gazette, and episode 9_of "The Eagle's Eye" serial. The chief picture on the programme at present being screened at the King's Theatre is undoubtedly the Chaplin comedy . entitled "His Ni_s;ht Out." This pioture is one of the runniest productions the comedian has appeared in, and his various pranks are .greeted with the hearty laughter of ,all those who witness the screening. Theda Bara. in tho pictorial version of Ottida's novel—" Under Two Flags " —provides the serious part of tha programme.
