PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATIONS
ROSLYN-KAEKORAI The work meetings of this association are still being held every Thursday afternoon in the Linden Lodgeroom. The attendance is not so large as could be desired, but useful work is being done. The following (roods have been forwarded within tho last few To Early Scalers' Hall: 51 flannel shirts £i. clay shirts, 14 pyjama suits, 27 pairs socks, 45 handkerchiefs, 4 scarves, 4 pairs mits. To Red Cross: 6 pyjama suits 19 flannel shirts, 9 white shirts, 6 muslin shirts, 6 flannel drawers, 10 pairs socles, 4 stump socks, 6 handkerchiefs, 1 bundle old linen. MIDDLEMARCH RED CROSS SOCIETY. At a meeting of the Middlemarch Vv omen's Red Cross Society on Saturday it was unanimously agreed to help raise funds to provide a returned soldiers' club room. Now that our men are coming'homo, as such a place is much required, and it is felt that it would bo a fitting memorial to those who have paid the supreme sacrifice, and also a benefit to those who have been spared to come back from the war. Already several donations havo been given, and tho society hopes that all those interested in the well-being of our returned men will help to provide this much-needed room. A publio meeting of ladies will be held shortly to arrange the business in connection with this wojlc.
