(Received May 26, at 11.50 p.m.) Sir James Allen has cabled to iJhe stranded New Zealanders that, provided the reports of the enidemic continue satisfactory, he hoped to arrange to repatriate small batches in a fortnight's time. The New Zealanders replied regretting the vagueness of the promise. They suggested that a full ship of passengers be sent next week under"strict medical quarantine arrangements—three consecutive days' examination before embarking, three days' quarantine aboard in Sydney, and four days' voyage. If this be unacceptable, explicit reasons are desired.
