MINING.
The manager of the Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge reports a return of 260z for 136 hours' dredging. The manager of the Rising Sun reports a return of 270z 18dwt for 129 hours' work. The manager of the Kuranui quartz mines reports.—"During the last week a leader composed of quartz and calcite was passed through. The country continues to be hard, but affords slightly better shooting."
