BURGLARS ACTIVE
OPERATING IN WELLINGTON. (Per Ukited Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 17. This evening it was discovered that thieves had entered Hamuli's Buildings, on Lambton . quay, and had stolen 30 boxes of hosiery, valued at about £30. How the goods were got away without detection is a mystery, for they had to be brought down four floors. Another burglary occurred at a drapery establishment in Cuba street between closing time on Saturday and this morning. In this case a window was smashed, and a number of ties were abstracted. In Sweden the public-houses are closed on Saturday, -which, is pay day, while tho savings ■ banks are kept open until midnight.
