THE WEATHER
Pine though dull climatio conditions prevailed on Saturday. Yesterday slight showers fell in. the morning, but the -weather cleared until about 5 p.m., "when, a heavy consistent rain sot in and continued for a couple of hours. The sky threatened more rain at an early hour thio mornic.

During the past week the weather has been much -warmer than, formerly, and with •the exception of a heavy thunderstorm on Wednesday, we havo had; a welcome spoil from the incessant rain. In several places harvesting has commenced- and tho crops, though some show signs of smut, aro much better than were anticipated.
