The National War Bond subscriptions exceed £1,600,000,000, exclusive of the most recent subscriptions through the Post Office. The final week yielded 95,914 applications for nearly £103,000,000. Tbe City of London will present the freedom of the City to the Prince of Wales and the freedom of the City, with swords of honour, to Lord Jellicoe 1 , Admiral Sir David Beatty, Lord French, Sir Douglas Haig, and Sir E. A. Allenby. The Registrar-general reports that there were 98,998 deaths from influenza in England and Wales for the quarter ending December.
