The Royal Flying Corps' naval air eer* vice comprised 285 officers and 2853 men ■ of other ranks. When hostilities ceased there were 30,000 officers, inclnding 10,000 pilots, and 254,000 other ranks, including V 21,000 flying cadets. At the outbreak of the war there wer« 165 aeroplanes, 45 seaplanes, and seven airships, and at the close 21,000 aeroplanes, 1300 seaplanes, and 103 airships, also 2500 . aeroplanes and 55,000 engines under order.
