The forty-second show of. the Otago A and P. Society, which is to be held at" lahuna Park on Wednesday and Thursdav promises to bo very interesting, as very larire entries have been received Irom breeders-of purebred stock from Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. The morning of the fist v , ™ ll J bo J d ? vo , ted to -J«dghig sheep; cattle, and Clydesdale horses. In connection with the Clydesdale section, the stallions that have entered for the Clydesdale Horse Society s Challenge Cup- will bo examined by the Government Veterinarians on Wednesday pr:or to entering the show ring. On the afternoon of the first day a popular programme will bo provided, consisting of ladies hunting, competition and boys'"and girls pony trots, etc. On Thursday morning (Peoples Day) harness horses, hacks cobs and pomes and draught working horses will be judged; while the whole of the afternoon, after itho parade of prize stock will be devoted to tho exciting steeplechase hunting and high-jump competitions and boys' and girls' pony trotting races. In the chief steeplechase event some of the best junipers in the South Island will try. conclusions ,for the valuable nrizes that h.vro been offered. In all the purebred classes some very fine animals will be on exhibition, as Canterbury has supplied a large number of tho entries coming forward, so that competition will be very keen. This year the train services have been. extended to meet the requirements and convenience of both exhibitors and visitors to the show. Somo interesting implements and machinery will bo displayed, also farm tractors, which latter are sure to be much in evidence in tho near f—fcure. Lunches and afternoon teas will be provided on the grounds. Tho 4th Otago Regiment Band and the Dnnedin Highland Pipo Band will provide an attractive programme of music.
