FIRES.
''"he City Fire Brigade received a call it 1.30 a,m. yesterday in consequence of. a fire having broken out in a five-roomed house in Kirkcaldy street, South Dunedin. The house was owned by Mr Sims, and was occupied by Mrs Sims. The damage was confined to the back of the premises, which, with tho_ washhouso, -.was badly damaged. The furniture was salvaged. The Port Chalmers Fire Brigade received a call yesterday morning to a bush fire in the vicinity of the baths. ' The fire was soon extinguished, none of the surrounding property being damaged.
