RRIZE-GIVTNO CEREMONY. Tho children of tho Kaikorai School have reason to bo grateful for the enterprise snowri by the school committeo in arranging for the usual prize-giving ccremony to tako pl;v3o, while all tho other schools have dropped.' the old-established custom this on account of the disorganisation worked by tho influenza epidemic. The gathering was held yesterday afternoon under ideal weather conditions, and a very happy timo was spent by tho children and their parents. Mr Georgo Moir (chairman of tho school committee) expressed his pleasure at seeing such a largo attendance, and said that the committee had, after due consideration, decided that there was no reason to forgo the usual prize ceremony this year after it had been kept up through four years of war. H© referred to the gladness which everybody felt at the victorious conclusion reached, and regretted that the general rejoicings had been spoiled by tho advent of an epidemio which had brought sadness to many. Although the head master had been absent on sick leave, tho prize-list' had been easily compiled from the class marks and inspector's reports. Tho mistress J" charge of the infants had reported that they had all done very good work, so each of the 142 children would be given a book and a.bag of lollies.—(Cheers.) The Rev.
