ANSWERS TO "J. 11.," Puketi .—our applo shoots arc nttacked 'with mildew. Spray them with Bordeaux, summer formula (coppex sulphate 41b, quicklimo 4!b, andi 40 gallons of water). Dissolyo the cojiper in a gallon of water, and mix up the quicklimo into a thin pa.ste m another gallon of water; strain both tho milk of lime and the copper sidphato into a cask, and make up to 40 gallons. Keep starred when applying, and coat all the attected shoots _ with it. As this mixture does not keep, it should be applied as soon as prepared. Ammoniacal eafbonato of copper can aJso bo used. It consists of copper carbonate soz, strong ammonia 3 pints, and! 45 gallons of water. Mix the copper oartonato into a thin paste with water, add tho ammonia, then dilute with water to 45 gallons. This is not so effective a fungicide as Bordeaux, but it can bo used on more delicate foliage, and will not stain tho loaves and fruit. ' i Grass. Tho specimen of gracs sent is hard fcscuo (Festuca duriuscula). Tho seed can _bo obtained from seedsmen, but it wonkl not mako a good lawn on its own.
