At Bancourt, on September 1, under pointblank firo at 20yds, he rushed enemy posts to right ind left, showing conspicuous bravery. Jt is recorded> that throughout operations casting for three davs lie set a splendid example to all. His next-of-kin is his mother (Mrs J. Grant, Princess street, Hiawera).
