EDUCATIONAL. AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY COLLEGE. SINCLAIR SCHOLARSHIP. One Sinclair Scholarship of £70 a year, , tenable for thrso years, is offered for competition this year. This Scholarship is open to all persons (male or female) born in the Dominion of New Zealand who at the time of examination shall be betw«sn the ages o£ 16 and 20 years, and who have 'not kept terms or attended lectures or hold • a scholarship in any University or College, and who shall satisfy the Council of the College that neither they nor their parents ;■-. °r guardians can obtain for them a University Education without pecuniary aid. The holder of the Scholarship will not bo 1 allowed to hold concurrently a Junior Uni- : versity Scholarship. Candidates will bo examined in Mathematics, and in any two of the following subjects:—(a) Botany, (b) Animal Physiology, (c) Physical Geography: and will be required to writo an English Essay on a subject selected by tho examiners. The standard of the Examination will be the same as that for the Junior Scholarships of the University of New Zealand. Special weight will be given to attainments and capacity in Animal . Physiology and Botany. Candidates are required to give in their names on or bsforo OCTOBER 1, 1918, to the Registrar, from whom further information can be obtained.
